Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam’s top gaming creators and esports professionals were recognised for their contributions in the region at this year’s inaugural SuperGamerFest Awards.

The SEA Content Creator of the Year winner is selected from the winners from the Social Media Star, Streamer and VOD Creator categories. Known for his comical presentation and fun-loving online personality, Akosi Dogie currently boasts over 10 million followers across his social media platforms.

In the esports category, two teams were named Esports Team of the Year. Both RRQ from Indonesia and Buriram United Esports from Thailand were honored for their outstanding and consistent performance, sportsmanship and mettle in the game. On top of that, the match between Alter Ego v. RRQ was named Esports Performance of the Year.

Along with that, Game of the Year was awarded to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Esports Coach of the Year was given to Malaysia’s own Muhammad “JangS” Farhan, while Esports Pro Player of the Year saw a tie between M. Ikhsan “Lemon” from Indonesia and Daryl “iceiceice” Koh from Singapore.

Over 100,000 nominations for the SuperGamerFest Awards were received over a month, and fans were given the chance to nominate their favourite esports and gaming talents from six SEA countries – Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The list of nominees was then put through a rigorous judging process featuring quantitative analysis and voting by an esteemed panel of judges across esports, telco and media industries to pick the final winners.

Viewing is an integral part of the gaming experience, and as esports viewership and demand for gaming content continues to soar across the region, the SuperGamerFest Awards was created specially to champion and recognise the dedication and achievements of esports professionals and gaming creators who continue to contribute to the burgeoning esports and gaming industry in Southeast Asia.
