LATAM Organization Isurus Expanding to U.S., Canada – The Esports Observer|home

Isurus, a business group born in Argentina as an esports organization, is expanding into the United States and Canada. The details will be revealed to the public in an online event at 6 p.m. EST on Friday, but on Thursday the Isurus co-owner and CEO Juan Cyterszpiler spoke exclusively with The Esports Observer.

Cyterszpiler said that this is part of an upscaling plan by Isurus to establish itself in the global market: “The idea of this is to show the world that we are capable of being relevant in other regions, so we want to expand and this is the premise for our move into USA and Canada.” He also said the company hopes to reach the competition level of the USA and even South Korea at esports.

After the establishment of an office in Miami, Florida (which is already in operation), Isurus is studying Toronto, Vancouver, or Ottawa as a location for building its offices in Canada. Initially, the expansion will include a gaming content creation project with streamers and influencers while scouting for talent in the region. There are also plans to enter the local esports scene, expanding even to esports like Rocket League, which the organization has not entered yet.

Isurus Gaming currently fields a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and a Rainbow Six Siege team in Brazil, and a League of Legends (LoL) team in Mexico. The organization, founded in 2011 by Facundo ‘Kala’ Calabró, evolved to be an entertainment hub and business group. Now, Isurus also invests in music, audiovisual productions, and events, with operations in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Mexico, and Brazil.

The company is now divided into different business groups, Isurus Gaming and Isurus Studio. Cyterszpiler also revealed the construction of a two-floor gaming house and training center for Isurus in São Paulo, Brazil. All the expansion plans are being funded by the organization’s own resources, without relying on external investors.
