Team Heretics’ Call of Duty Esports efforts halted in 2019 after CDL shifted to a franchise-based league, and Team Heretics failed to secure a franchise spot. Despite this setback, Team Heretics promised that this would not be the end for their organization in Call of Duty. After four years, they’re keeping their promise.

Goodbye Florida Mutineers, Hello Miami Heretics

Team Heretics has announced on Twitter its triumphant return to the CDL scene as the Miami Heretics. The announcement comes several months after the reveal that the Florida Mutineers would be partnering with Team Heretics and undergoing a rebranding.

Along with the return announcement, the Miami Heretics have revealed their roster. Numerous members of the Florida Mutineers left the organization in late June. Fans of Team Heretics from their last active time in Call of Duty Esports will recognize some familiar faces.

READY TO CONTINUE WHAT WE DID IN THE PAST 🏆

This is our CDL roster:

The Miami Heretics revealed EriKBooM, JurNii, Lucky, MettalZ, and Vikul as the Miami Heretics active roster players. Noel Garberi Fernández, who remained with Team Heretics and has coached for their Rainbow Six Siege and Valorant teams, is returning as Call of Duty head coach, with MethodZ also coaching the team.

The Team Heretic Call of Duty pros kept themselves active in Call of Duty Esports even after Team Heretic shuttered the doors on their Call of Duty team. JurNii, MettalZ, and Lucky all spent time together in 2021 and 2022 as members of RAMS and the Minnesota RØKKR RØKKR Academy. They’ve added a healthy number of 1st place finishes in the EU Challengers circuit these past few years to their belts and are clearly still at the top of their game.

Meanwhile, ErikBoom has also proven himself a formidable force on the Challengers circuit. He most recently placed 2nd in the Call of Duty Challengers 2023 Finals as a member of Team Notorious. Vikul has played very well over the past two years as part of the Florida Mutineers and Ultra Academy NA.

Pending League approval, Team Heretics can once again begin their climb to the top of Call of Duty Esports. Welcome back.
