MK 1 is the next big fighting game to drop in 2023. We’re currently in a busy time for the series, with new characters and features getting announced all the time. We’ve just wrapped up the first online beta, but have already started to get more information thanks to the MK1 Gamescon trailer. This new trailer showed off the new fighters. That’s with fresh Kameo Fighters we can expect when the game launches later this year.
Since E3 basically died, the Gamescon show has become a much bigger event. Most of the major announcements take place here. This year we saw news for Tekken, Call of Duty, but the MK 1 Gamescon trailer was one of the most exciting. During the stream, we saw quite a few new details get announced for the upcoming fighting game.

MK 1 Gamescon Trailer
A new video trailer showed off quite a bit about what we can expect to come with MK 1 at launch. There were snippets of the story mode which is exciting for anyone who enjoyed past stories. These also confirmed two more characters coming as mainline fighters! While these have featured in Mortal Kombat 1 leaks so far, we now have confirmation that we’re getting both General Shao and Sindel as mainline fighters in the game.
Along with two more characters getting announced for the main roster, we’ve gotten news for what we can expect from the new Kameo Fighter feature too. Some more names have been added to that roster! We can expect to see Motaro and Shujinko along with the previously announced Kameo fighters.

These latest fighters might be wrapping up the major announcements for new characters. We’re expecting to see the game actually released on September 19th . There really isn’t long at all to wait before we see everything the title has to offer at launch!
