EVO 2023 is finally underway. Since the new management came in with the Sony buyout though, things have been a bit different. For a start, the EVO 2023 schedule is filled with announcements and other events to show off upcoming content for fighting games. We’re expecting to learn more about Tekken 8, see some hands-on footage from Project L, and we’ve just learnt about a brand-new fighting game dropping soon. Arc System Works have announced UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celesnone.

UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celesnone is a brand new fighting game in the series, following up on a game that was released ten years ago. This is another of the upcoming fighting games from the developer, but we’ve gotten tons of info on how the new game in the series is going to work.

UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celesnone Announced

UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celesnone is a new game that’s following up its predecessor with more modern gameplay. Graphically, the game is a big upgrade. The art looks like a much more polished version of the last in the series. It’s the combat changes that have made some bigger alterations though. All characters are getting new moves, everyone is being rebalanced. The whole system is receiving changes to make it more open to beginners playing.

The new game will notably include rollback netcode. This is a modern standard for Arc games, although the FighterZ Rollback update is still being worked on. UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celesnone will feature the improved netcode for high-level connections online.

The new title in the series will be dropping in 2024. It’s releasing on PlayStation 4, PS5, Steam, and Switch. Players at EVO will be able to try out a demo over the course of the event too.

The last game in the series was Under Night In-Birth, a game that first popped up in 2012 but has received releases on more modern platforms since. It has remained relevant and the series has a lot of fans. This new sequel will follow up gameplay-wise, but also in the story of the game. It’s been promised that this will be the last chapter in the Hollow Night story.
