After taking a final look at the Dota 2 meta before the arrival of the first Major of 2023, it’s time for an in-depth overview of Group A. The Lima Major 2023 will take place in just a few days from now, and it will include the world’s best teams. Speaking of the devil, there will be 18 of them in total, and each one has the potential to win.
The teams participating in the Lima Major 2023 will be split into 2 groups. Each one has something to offer, so it will be fun to see what will happen. With that said, this article will focus on Group A.
An important thing to remember is that three teams will be eliminated once the Group Stage is over. Four will receive an Upper Bracket slot, whereas the other 2 will head over to the Lower Bracket.
With that said, let’s go through the different teams in Group A and learn more about them. We will share a few words about each one and see how likely it is to win.
The first squad that will be a part of Group A of The Lima Major 2023 is EHOME. Even though most people didn’t expect the Chinese powerhouse to end up here, the squad secured 4th place in China. It wasn’t easy because Night and the rest had to take part in the Tiebreaker. With that said, the team dealt with Xtreme Gaming and eventually qualified for the Major.
EHOME is definitely one of the most dangerous teams, but we don’t feel like it has what it takes to finish in the top 4. The team defeated many big names in China, but Group A is extremely competitive.
The second name on the list is the newly-formed Evil Geniuses, which consists of South American players. EG broke Thunder Awaken’s dominance in the region and secured one of the two slots for the event.
Considering this will be the club’s first big international tournament, it will be interesting to see whether it will have what it takes to win. Judging by what we’ve seen in South America’s Tour 1 Division I, it definitely has the needed firepower.
We are coming, PERU! ✈️

There is no arguing that Execration is one of the most interesting clubs on the list. Although it was the underdog in Southeast Asia, Bob and co. ripped through everyone and earned a slot for The Lima Major 2023.
Even though the team didn’t have any problems in Division I, we haven’t had the chance to see it against the best in the world yet. Considering that this will be Execration’s first big international event, we’ll pay attention to their results.

The first Western European team in Group A is Gamin Gladiators. Even though the latter didn’t live up to the expectations at The International 11, Quinn and the rest are among the world’s best. They also have the result to back it up, so it’s safe to say GG is one of the big favorites in Group A.
With that said, it won’t be easy for the EU powerhouse because it has to play against many other top squads.
While we’re on the topic of top teams, we need to mention PSG.LGD. The latter is one of the best Dota 2 teams in the last couple of years and continues to dominate its opponents in China and the international scene. Even though LGD couldn’t impress its fans at TI 11, the team crushed everyone in Division I and secured a slot for the Lima Major 2023.
Unless shiro and the rest have problems in their roster, they shouldn’t have problems securing a Top 4 finish. No wonder some of the leading online bookmakers consider them te favorites.

The second team from Southeast Asia that will try its luck in Group A is TGalon Esports. 23savage and the rest have come a long way and slowly but steadily proved themselves as one of the best teams in SEA.
Although we’ve seen most of Talon’s players at TI 11, they didn’t live up to the expectations. However, following the roster changes, they seem better than ever.

The fist and only Eastern European team in Group A of the Lima Major 2023 is team Spirit. Although Yatoro and the rest didn’t win the last TI, the team has proven countless times it is one of the best in the world. Consequently, it will be one of the main contenders for the top 4 finish.
An important thing to know about Team Spirit is that TORONTOTOKYO is no longer a part of the team. It seems like this change doesn’t have that much of an impact on the squad because TS had no problems in Eastern Europe.
TSM will be the only North American representative at The Lima Major 2023 Group A. The squad finished first in the region, so it definitely looks like it has what it takes to bring down the big names in Dota 2. However, as we all know, NA is not the best Dota 2 region right now, so we’re yet to see whether TSM can put up a challenge.

Last but definitely not least, we have probably the most popular Dota 2 club in Group A. Tundra Esports has been one of the best in Western Europe and is the current The International winner. Consequently, it is one of the main favorites for a Top 4 finish and the hidden favorite to win the entire tournament.
As we’ve seen, there are several teams that definitely have what it takes to win Group A. Some of them look better on paper, but we’re yet to see whether they have what it takes to live up to the expectations. Make sure to follow us form ore updates regarding The Lima Major 2023.
