CSGO in 2023 – Changes & Expectations

CSGO in 2023 could see a lot of changes, as arguably the most popular esports (certainly among shooters), is likely to star once again.

CSGO is among the biggest eSports in the world and the leading shooter. With millions of fans from all over the world, this game has been around for more than 10 years. Unsurprisingly, CSGO will continue to dominate its genre and will remain the leading shooter.

Unlike most computer games, this one has had a few changes in the last couple of years. In fact, the game remained relatively the same. However, there are a couple of changes people expect to see in 2023, and we are about to take a look at them in this article.

Source 2

People who’ve been playing Dota 2 for some time now probably remember that the game received a major update a couple of years ago. Besides the standard things, such as balance changes, Valve decided to start using Source 2. This update changed Dota 2’s appearance and made the game look more modern. Needless to say, people were really happy with the graphics.

The fact that Valve did this in Dota 2 many years ago meant that the company would probably do this in CSGO as well. However, we are yet to see this happening, which is one of the reasons why people believe that 2023 will be the year when those changes will occur.

As much as we want to see this in 2023, no one knows whether Valve will decide to implement it. There haven’t been any legit indications yet, but who knows, the company might want to make sure CSGO will remain the leading shooter and add the new source.

Since some players may have problems with the new source, Valve might decide to add the option that will let you choose between one or the other. This option wasn’t available in Dota 2 and it caused some problems, which is why Valve may decide to change it.

A new Operation

One of the many unique things that make this game stand out is the fact that Valve releases the so-called “Operations”. Those things include new skins and often have things such as new maps. For example, Operation Riptide, which became available almost a year and a half ago, included things like Basalt, Insertion II, Ravine, Extraction, and so on. In addition to the maps, each operation has its own cases, which are exclusive because they are not available when the new update becomes available.

Judging by the number of active CSGO players following such an update, it seems like those things have an effect on people. Consequently, we expect Valve to release at least one big update that will include a lot of items.

Besides all of the things mentioned so far, we wouldn’t be surprised if Valve decides to add new content with these operations. For example, we might have the chance to use new game modes, similar to the PVE option that might become available in Overwatch 2.

New Stickers

Alongside the new operation that will grant us the chance to try a lot of exclusive options, Valve might grant us new stickers. Although some players aren’t that interested in them, we wouldn’t be surprised if we have the chance to use loads of different sticker capsules, similar to those in Battlefield.

New Majors

We’ve already covered some of the hottest upcoming CSGO tournaments, and the Majors were among them. For example, the BLAST.TV Paris Major 2023 will take place this May in France’s capital. Needless to say, it will include some of CSGO’s best teams and a jaw-dropping prize pool of $1.25M

The Majors may be the highlight of the professional CSGO scene, but there will be many other events to watch. We suggest taking a look at our article, where we’ve covered the S-tier options.

New top-tier players

Judging from what’s happening in the Dota 2 universe where many top teams decided to play with new and inexperienced players, we think it is just a matter of time before the same things happen to CSGO. Although there are some teams that do this even today, others rely on proven players who know what they’re doing. That said, there will be a lot of new players in the industry, meaning that we will definitely have future superstars.

It will be really interesting to see if the new players can go head-to-head with the best in the game. It is doubtful, but who knows, we might see a new superstar that is as good as s1mple.

An improved ranking system

Some players are happy with the current system, whereas others are eager to see something new. To be fair, Valve changed some things a couple of months ago. Some people got a new rank, whereas others dropped a couple of positions, but this was not the update that some players were waiting for.

Even though a complete CSGO rank rework is highly unlikely, we wouldn’t be surprised if Valve changed some things. For example, we may have access to things like a role queue. That said, this won’t be that good in CS GO because AWPers will have to wait forever to find a game.

Conclusion

To sum up, 2023 will be an interesting year for CSGO. Valve could make several interesting game changes that should have a positive impact on the game. Of course, we will have to wait and see what will happen.

Until then, make sure to check out some of the hottest CSGO events you can bet on. We can give you access to the world’s leading websites for betting on CSGO, so feel free to check them out.
