Dignitas Will Try To Make Noise in LCS Playoffs by Signing Veterans Jensen and Santorin

Dignitas are looking to bounce back after a not-so-great 2022 season.

2022 started out looking like it was going to be good for Dignitas. After making two straight LCS Playoffs, Dignitas strengthen their roster with the veteran jungler Kim “River” Dong-woo and were pushing for a higher finish. And after a 3rd place finish in the Lock-In tournaments, it looked like the organization’s fortune was turning. But more and more kept going wrong during the Spring itself and Dignitas couldn’t make playoffs. And after a disastrous start to Summer, Dig traded River to Golden Guardians and settled for the last place in the regular season.

Many speculated this was to indicate Dignitas’ unwillingness to compete and the org would sell its spot in the league, but with the new rumors around LCS, it seems to be the opposite. A couple of days ago, Jaxon.gg’s Yohan Markov had written that the team was close to a deal with two-time LEC champion top laner, İrfan Berk “Armut” Tükek. And today two more reports came out from Brieuc “LEC Wooloo” Seeger that Dignitas will sign two LCS veterans Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer.

The three players are expected to be joined by the Korean support player Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun and the Dignitas’ rookie ADC Trevor “Spawn” Kerr-Taylor, who had a decent showing in his first LCS split.

It is interesting that if this roster gets a chance to play together, there are many pre-existing synergies on the team. Both Jensen and IgNar previously played with Santorin, albeit on different teams. Jensen and Santorin were on Team Liquid before the former’s departure, while IgNar and Santorin were a part of the FlyQuest roster that made two back-to-back LCS Finals and represented North America at Worlds.

When it comes to replacements for these players, Cloud9 have reportedly signed two young prospects from the ERLs for both their Academy and main team. There is no specific rumor about the new Team Liquid jungler, but there have been some rumblings about a possible all-Korean-speaking team in LCS for the 2023 season, with TL being the biggest candidate for it.
