Fans can begin earning points by registering with their gamertag at www.rivalgames.com/seahawks starting October 14. The Seahawks will host multiple featured tournaments with influencers and players, providing over $5,000 in prizes during the season.
“We are always looking for opportunities to further engage with our fans off the field, and we know esports and gaming is something both our fans and players enjoy,” said David Young, Chief Operating Officer, Seattle Seahawks. “Whether it is competing in Madden or simply enjoying their favorite game with fellow 12s, the Seahawks are excited to partner with Rival to help launch Seahawks Sandbox and give our fans an opportunity to join a fun new Seahawks community online.”
“Rival is thrilled to continue our partnership with the Seahawks and build on their progressive approach to leveraging esports and gaming within the club’s broader fan engagement strategy,” said Rival Chief Marketing Officer Dan Parise. “We look forward to working together to elevate the gaming experience with the launch of the Seahawks Sandbox platform while providing innovative ways to build the Seahawks brand and offerings to its corporate partners.”
The team will also launch a new Seahawks Sandbox YouTube channel, with content released throughout the year, making the Seahawks the first team in the NFL to launch a dedicated gaming YouTube channel. Seattle gamer and influencer Marcel “BasicallyIDoWrk” Cunningham will be dropping Sandbox content throughout the year. Influencer and 2x Madden Club Champion Daniel “Dcroft” Mycroft will be live streaming throughout the season against a weekly Seahawks opponent, matching up against prominent players in the Madden community. The NFL, EA Sports, and the Seahawks will also be adding featured influencer content to the new Seahawks Sandbox YouTube Channel.
For those looking for a less competitive experience, the Seahawks will host multiple Minecraft realms for fans to visit and build their very own Seahawks Minecraft community. Both Survival and Creative maps will be available for fans to explore and build with access via the Seahawks Rival Platform.
