New $500 million Esports arena to be built in Toronto | Entertainment

OverActive Media is planning to open a 7,000 seat esports arena in Toronto. The project is expected to be finished by 2025. OverActive Media is the owner of the Overwatch League’s Toronto Defiant and the Call of Duty League’s Toronto Ultra. The $500M venue will serve as the home of both teams, but it is hoped that the venue will attract other esports teams as well. OverActive is planning to host more than 200 events a year, including esports events and concerts. However, the venue will also host “major city-wide conventions, corporate events and product launches, and awards shows”. We are already in active discussions to attract some of the biggest esport events in the world.
